The Story of the Shoe of Journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi
My Arab brother and friend Abu Muammar, have you heard of a shoe like a missile that flew over the head of a dog—not to apologize, but to teach a lesson? It was a farewell kiss from the Arab hero Muntazer upon the head of disbelief, Bush.\nThe hero waited long for this moment, then struck and triumphed. The news spread like wildfire, and all screens displayed only Bush and the shoe. They asked where the guards were; they said the shoe passed like lightning, encrypted and swift.\nBush ordered the shoe to be taken for investigation and placed in the Hummer, and the journalist among the prisoners.\nQuestion: Introduce yourself, O shoe of Muntazer.\nAnswer: I am from a pair, size 44, made of noble Arab leather. I once walked the lands of my homeland hoping to tread on marble, but today I walk on rubble, destruction, blood, and stone.\nQuestion: Why did you polish your leather with the American flag?\nAnswer: Because I passed over the head of a filthy pig among men.\nQuestion: Do you request anything before execution?\nAnswer: I wish to kiss Bush and be kissed by him so that we reconcile.\nThen one of them said with tears: It is enough for Bush that he was perfumed by you; do not stain yourself, for he has become despised by all peoples.\n\nAuthor: Abdul-Kafi Zaki Dalati (Abu Fathi)
